What are the STEP Business Awards?

The South Tyneside Enterprise Partnership (STEP) Business Awards celebrate the success of local entrepreneurs and raise their profile, as well as encouraging and inspiring others. The Awards look for evidence of the qualities that make a difference for example, the ability to respond to a challenge with determination, skill and ability applied with creativity and innovation. These could be evident through improvement in, for example, quality or productivity, innovations in product/services, marketing or responding to a new market opportunity. 

 

Who can enter?
Businesses can enter on their own account or through nomination by another person or organisation. The Awards are open to any business based in South Tyneside which has been trading for at least 12 months at 31st March 2009. Applicants are asked to provide one copy of their entry which must be returned to:

By close of business on 5th June 2009.

 

How to enter?
Please complete the entry form which asks for specific information and provides the opportunity for up to 1,000 words of narrative to make the case for your entry. Supporting documentation should not be submitted, entries will be judged on entry form alone.

What then?
Entries will be judged and two entries will be shortlisted per category. Each shortlisted company will receive two complimentary tickets to the STEP Business Awards Ceremony, where the winner and runner-up will be presented with their awards. Additional tickets can be purchased at a cost of £81.25 per ticket or £650 for a table of 8. The STEP Business Awards Ceremony will be the concluding event of South Tyneside Business Week 2009 and will take place on Thursday, July 2nd from 6.30pm at Unit 6, Waldridge Way, East Simonside Industrial Estate, Newcastle Road, South Shields NE34 9QA.
